First, Mary prepares a simple and easy herb flatbread that the whole family can muck in with. Next up, she enlists the help of two of her older granddaughters to prepare a delicious chicken and bacon lattice pie, with foolproof lattice pastry. Mary then moves on to a dish popular with her family - a light tuna salad with avocado and lemon mustard dressing. Then, to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth, Mary and her grandsons make cranberry and coconut energy bars.

Her final two dishes are perfect for a Sunday lunch when you don't want to spend all morning in the kitchen - butterflied leg of lamb, followed by the ultimate foolproof pudding - honeycomb ice cream.

This pie would make a wonderful centrepiece for a family meal. My granddaughters Abby and Grace helped me to make it for the TV programme.

2. Cranberry and coconut energy bars

These energy bars are so easy to make, and are great for a packed lunch or eating on the go.

Mary Berry cooks her foolproof recipe for honeycomb ice cream.

 4. Butterflied leg of lamb with preserved lemons

This dish is a great for feeding a crowd. It is super simple to make and full of flavour. You can buy a butterflied joint from your butcher. A ‘butterflied’ joint is where the bone has been removed and the meat opened out into roughly the shape of a butterfly. This means it is quicker to cook and easier to carve.

Episode 3 : Mary prepares two foolproof dishes guaranteed to go down a storm – lamb burgers with mint mayo and smoked Texan chicken wings – both perfect for outdoor cooking on those beautiful summer days.
